General Services

  1. What types of corporate/commercial photography do you offer?

    • We offer a wide range of photo and video services. Everything from corporate headshots, internal magazine content, golf days, year end functions, social media content creation and tv commercial set stills/video behind the scenes.

  2. Do you provide behind the scenes or unit stills for TV and film productions?

    • We do both behind the scenes and can do unit stills if required. We can also offer behind the scenes video if required. Most of the tvc’s we have done both behind the scenes and unit stills before crew break down a set and move to next scene. Most of the time, we can complete it within a few minutes.

  3. Do you travel for shoots or work outside of your city?

    • Yes absolutely! We love travelling. We flew from JNB to Cape Town and JNB to Durban with a paper backdrop, backdrop stands and our camera gear to do headshots for a client at their Cape Town & Durban branches.

  4. What industries or clients have you worked with before?

    • We have worked with AVBOB, CLICKS, BELGRAVIA to name a few. For a full list of some of the other clients we have worked can be found towards the bottom of our homepage.

Booking & Process

  1. How far in advance should I book a session?

    • Most of our bookings’s come in 2-8 weeks in advance so its always advised to at-least get in touch to check availability and pencil a date if need be and once the event is confirmed we can secure it. Unfortunately we have to work on a first come first serve basis. In busy periods, we can always send you a fellow professional photographer/videographer to assist should we already be booked.

  2. What is your typical workflow from inquiry to final delivery?

    • Once we receive contact from you, we will then send you a quote. Once quote is approved, we will send an invoice to be paid. 50% payment to secure your event and balance 50% to be settled no later than 14 days before the event. This excludes special occasions where flights/accommodation needs to be arranged and paid for. In that case 50% plus additional travel fee’s to be paid before securing date.

  3. Can you help with creative direction or shot lists?

    • Yes absolutely. We love working either as a team with other creatives or creating a concept for you based on your needs.

  4. Do you offer on-set proofing or previews during the shoot?

    • Yes we can, we have laptops/desktop pc’s that can be brought with to proof images on set if required.

  5. What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

    Cancellation

    • 15+ days before event: 50% booking fee is retained as non refundable.

    • 14 days or less before event: 100% of the total fee is retained, as it is unlikely the date can be rebooked.

    Rescheduling

    • One reschedule is permitted if requested at least 14 days before the event, subject to availability. The deposit transfers to the new date.

    • Additional reschedules or changes requested within 14 days will incur a rescheduling fee of 20% of the total invoice.

    Cancellation by Popcorn Head Media

    • In the unlikely event I/we must cancel due to illness, emergency, or circumstances beyond our control, I/we will:

      • Refund all payments made, including the deposit, or

      • Arrange for a qualified replacement photographer of similar style (with your approval).

    Force Majeure

    • If the event is canceled due to factors beyond either party’s control (natural disasters, government restrictions, etc.), payments (minus any unrecoverable expenses) will be applied as a credit toward a future booking within 12 months.

Pricing & Packages

  1. How are your rates structured?

    • We offer both half & full day rates and thereafter p/h billing.

  2. Are travel & equipment rental fees included in your pricing?

    • Yes, depending on the requirements of the work, we will quote you and breakdown the fee’s for travel and gear in the quote if needed.

  3. Do you require a booking fee to secure a date?

    • Yes, we require a 50% booking of the total invoice to secure your date.

Image Rights & Usage

  1. Who owns the copyright to the photos?

    • Copyright will stay with Popcorn Head Media unless a licensing agreement is made in advance (during the booking process)

  2. What usage rights are included in your packages?

    • If its your event/shoot, you are welcome to use them for social media and internal marketing material. Should you wish to use the material for a large advertising campaign, we can discuss usage rights for a set period of time.

  3. Can you provide extended licensing for large campaigns or advertising?

    • Yes most certainly. Contact us and we can go through the details.

Editing & Delivery

  1. How long does it take to receive the final images?

    • Standard events/jobs are 3-7 business days turnaround.

  2. What is included in your editing or retouching services?

    • Basic light retouching is done for all jobs except content creation which will be more in depth skin retouching. In depth skin retouching can be added to corporate headshots if required for an extra fee.

  3. In what format will the final images be delivered ?

    • All our images are sent in full resolution JPEG and 4K MP4 videos and can be cropped for social media if required.

  4. Do you offer rush turnaround if we’re on a tight deadline?

    • Yes we do, we offer a 24 hour turnaround or we can retouch images/video on site should you require live posting to social media.

On-Site & Technical Details

  1. Can you work within our brand guidelines or colour profiles?

    • Yes absolutely. A solid brief provided by you (client) with reference images and colour paletts, goes a long way in helping us plan to get the best results.

  2. Can you work with our in-house creative team or other vendors?

    • We love networking and working in teams with other creatives!

  3. What equipment do you use, and can you handle complex lighting setups?

    • We use mirrorless cameras and artificial strobe lights for portrait sessions. On tv commercial sets, we use the lighting provided by the lighting crew to match the same framing and colour tones shot on the cinema cameras.
